Test Description

The Microsoft Word test measures proficiency with a wide range of functionalities in Word 2013 or 2016. The test is 10 minutes and contains 20 questions. The test assesses an individual’s ability to successfully complete basic tasks within Word across a wide range of positions requiring regular computer use. Some of these include creating a document, using mail merge, formatting text, working with margins, and editing, formatting, and copying text. This test is helpful for determining whether or not an applicant has the basic level of knowledge to use Microsoft Word successfully in the workplace, allowing employers to hire individuals who won’t require additional training in that area.

Detailed Score Reports

Score reports for the Word 2013 or 2016 test provide a raw score of the number of questions an individual answered correctly, along with the percentile ranking of how well that individual performed compared to others. For instance, if an applicant scored in the 84th percentile, this means that he or she performed better than 84% of the other people who have taken the test.

The score report also presents an itemized list of every question from the test and indicates whether or not the applicant answered that question correctly, along with how long the applicant took to answer each question. This provides a fuller picture of an applicant’s strengths and weaknesses within Microsoft Word.
