Last week, we had the chance to learn about the Employee Personality Profile assessment. Now that you have had the chance to learn more about it, we will share information about another of our favorite assessments – the Myers-Briggs Strong Interest Inventory.
The Strong Interest Inventory is the ultimate career test that provides insight and direction. Specifically, it gives you insight into your interests, work styles, potential careers, and even potential areas of study for your undergraduate career. The assessment does this by exploring your interests in six broad areas (RIASEC):
- Realistic
- Artistic
- Investigative
- Social
- Enterprising
- Conventional
It then breaks the RIASEC areas into 30 specific areas of interest that can be directly related to fields of study, careers, and leisure activities. In addition, it describes an individual’s personal style preferences in five areas: work style, learning environment, team orientation, leadership style, and risk taking. Depending on the report you choose, it ranks the individual’s top 5 or 10 most compatible occupations from a list of 260 specific jobs.
